The Royals can move into sole possession of the second Wild Card if they take the weekend series against the Twins. They enter the weekend just a half-game back, and can even cut into the 4.5 game lead by the first place Guardians.
Cole Ragans takes the hill tonight for the fourth time against the Twins this season. He is 1-2 with a 2.50 ERA in three starts, with 24 strikeouts in 18 innings.

The Twins start rookie Zebby Matthews, who allowed two runs in five innings for a win in his MLB debut against the Royals back in August, but has struggled since then.
