Tonight’s game between the Cincinnati Reds and the Kansas City Royals has been postponed “out of an abundance of caution” after a Reds player tested positive for Covid-19 last week. However, there have been no further positive cases on the team, and the game will be rescheduled for Wednesday as part of a doubleheader.
Cincinnati last played on Friday, August 14 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but on the morning of Saturday, August 15, an unnamed Red tested positive for Covid. Not wanting another situation like the Miami Marlins or St. Louis Cardinals, Major League Baseball postponed Saturday and Sunday’s games to later in the season.
