Royals left fielder Alex Gordon completed his 10th season in the majors, which is another indication that time simply flies.
That means that in 2008, Gordon was preparing for his second big-league season. One of his teammates was Billy Butler, the former Royals first baseman/designated hitter who was 22 years old and also was coming off his rookie season.
This is relevant, because the Royals shared a video of those two players from a 2008 commercials that never aired*. Those fresh-faced guys are seasoned veterans now and it’s fun to look back at them.
*Perhaps the Royals wanted to dissuade people from going into the fountains; this was five years before Fountain Lady.
