And in his first action of the Arizona Fall League, Toups found himself stockpiling hits once again as Surprise and Peoria played to a 7-7 tie in 11 innings on Wednesday afternoon at the Peoria Sports Complex.
"It was fun," Toups said. "They have some good arms throwing today, but I feel like the whole team battled well."
In order to protect the pitching staffs, the AFL mandates that tie games end after 11 innings.
Toups filled the box score, going 3-for-5 with a double, homer, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored.
"That's been a big thing for me, not losing my approach at the plate going up there having an idea of what I want to do," Toups said.
