The Royals announced they have signed veteran right-hander Ross Stripling to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. The 35-year-old is a nine-year MLB veteran and one-time All-Star with 40 career wins. Last year with the Athletics he had a 6.01 ERA in 85 1⁄3 innings and was worth -1.1 rWAR.
Stripling was drafted by the Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2012 draft out of Texas A&M. He has been a swingman his entire career, with 129 career starts and 119 relief appearances. He was an All-Star in 2018 when he posted a 3.
