SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Before the Royals embarked for the annual General Managers Meetings here, they were on hand for former Royals closer Greg Holland's showcase workout at nearby Grand Canyon University on Monday morning.
The Royals were one of several teams attending the workout as Holland, a free agent, hopes to draw interest after missing all of 2016 recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Assistant general manager Scott Sharp represented the Royals at the workout. Representatives from the Marlins, Phillies, Yankees, Rangers and Twins were also believed to be in attendance.
"It's tough to evaluate in November," Sharp said.
