“It was a difficult decision,” Moore told MLB.com of Franco’s non-tender. “He really did a great job for us. But going forward we felt we had internal options at third base, including Hunter Dozier, [prospects Kelvin] Gutierrez and [Emmanuel] Rivera.”
Mike Minor talked to reporters about what brought him to Kansas City.
Minor, who signed a two-year deal worth a guaranteed $18 million and a club option for a third season on Tuesday, said of reaching an agreement, “I feltlike I owedDayton (Moore) and the organization something from the last time I was there, the way they gave me an opportunity after having surgery and then not pitching and only pitching one year for them.
