The Royals and right-hander Seth Maness have agreed to a Minor League deal with an invitation to Spring Training, according to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The club has not confirmed the deal.
Maness, 28, recently threw in a showcase after undergoing elbow surgery in August. He opted not to undergo Tommy John surgery and instead underwent a new procedure that could have him ready for Opening Day, which will be about eight months after his surgery.
Maness has a 3.19 ERA in 244 relief appearances over four seasons, all with the Cardinals.
