Royals release League from Minors contract

MESA, Ariz. -- The Royals made two more roster moves on Sunday, following the options of six players to Triple-A Omaha on Friday.

Veteran right-handed reliever and former All-Star Brandon League was released from his Minor League contract, and Minor League first baseman Brandon Dulin was traded to the White Sox for either a player to be named or cash, according to team officials.

League, 34, has performed well in a comeback effort after not pitching in the Majors since 2014, when he was a reliever with the Dodgers. He was released by the Dodgers in July 2015 and underwent shoulder surgery two days later, which kept him from pitching until this spring.
