Well, when I wrote in the game thread that we should all expect a good game tonight, this isn’t what I envisioned, but it is what we got.
Cole Ragans turned in the first truly bad start by a Royals pitcher this year. He couldn’t make it out of the second inning and gave up seven runs. He did strike out four and gave up no walks or home runs, so while his ERA for tonight was 37.80, ballooning his season ERA to 4.32, his FIP was -1.60, lowering his season FIP to 2.04. I wouldn't be too worried about him, no one can be perfect all the time and since it wasn’t a lack of control or the long ball and he gave up multiple hits on balls that weren’t hit particularly hard.
