Royals recall Junis from Triple-A Omaha

MINNEAPOLIS -- Prior to Sunday's doubleheader, the Royals recalled right-hander Jake Junis from Triple-A Omaha. He was put to work, starting Game 1 of the traditional twin bill at Target Field.

Junis has made two appearances for the big league club, both taking place during the 2017 season. He has notched a victory, while scattering one hit over two scoreless frames. He has struck out two batters and walked four.

"He throws strikes, he's a good young pitcher," Kansas City manager Ned Yost said. "Giving him some experience up here at this level is important.
