The Royals re-signed left-handed pitcher Brian Duensing, infielder Clint Barmes and outfielder Travis Snider to minor-league deals on Friday, adding some depth to the upper levels of their minor-league system.
All three players spent spring training with the Royals and were released last week after exercising opt-outs in their minor-league deals. All three will accept a minor-league assignment.
Duensing, 33, offered a solid impression in his first spring with the Royals. He finished with a 2.61 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 10 1/3 innings. A native of Omaha, Neb., he will likely begin the regular season in his hometown.
