The Royals were dealt a blow on Saturday amid their chase for an American League Wild Card spot, as the team placed ace Danny Duffy on the 10-day disabled list with an impingement in his left pitching elbow.
Fellow lefty Eric Skoglund will start in Duffy's place for Kansas City on Sunday, while the team also selected the contract of southpaw Onelki Garcia from Triple-A Omaha.
