Outfielder Burle Dixon broke out of a slump in style, hitting for his first career cycle in the Burlington Royals’ 14–4 victory over Johnson City on August 15.
Most of Dixon’s offensive display came in the first few frames. Batting eighth in the Royals lineup, he hit a solo homer in his first at-bat in the second inning, and followed that up with an RBI double in the next frame. The 20-year-old then singled in the fourth, leaving ample time to complete arguably the most difficult part of the cycle — the triple. However, Dixon struck out in his fourth at-bat, giving him one more chance at personal history.
