Royals lose fifth in a row, fall 2-1 to Giants

The Royals offense continued their struggles managing just one run on five hits, and the team lost their fifth in a row, falling 2-1 to the Giants on Friday night.

Royals starter Michael Wacha ran into some trouble in the opening frame, giving up a leadoff single to Mike Yastrzemski, and walking Mark Canha. Heliot Ramos hit a one-out chopper to the right of Wacha that he couldn’t field cleanly, allowing Yastrzemski to score the game’s first run.

The Royals faced rookie Mason Black, a former third-round pick with a 7.07 ERA in 28 big league innings in his young career, who had yet to go more than five innings in a start.
