The Royals lost today, 6-1, to Texas. I’m not sure it’s fair to say that they shouldn’t have lost, but they had so, so many opportunities not to lose. They squandered every single one of them.
Jorge Lopez, who continues to be plagued by surrendering a ton of home runs, put his team in a 2-0 hole when Kole Calhoun hit a two-run bomb in the first inning. The Royals would get one run back in the frame, when Nicky Lopez (though Steve Physioc called him Jorge Lopez) hit a double and scored on Adalberto Mondesi’s RBI single.
