Despite struggling on this road trip, Kansas City came into this afternoon’s contest with the opportunity to come home with a winning road trip. It looked like they would do just that after carrying a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the 4th. However, thanks to errors, walks, and Ryan Jeffers, Minnesota scored seven unanswered runs, taking down the Royals 7-6. Kansas City rallied in the 9th but it was too little too late.
Kansas City falls to 35-23 while the Twins improve to 31-25 and are now just 2.0 games behind the Royals in the AL Central.
