The Royals were dealt a set back in their quest for a new downtown baseball stadium when they lost a public vote in April, but that hasn’t stopped their efforts. According to Sam McDowell of the Star, the city has continued to have talks with the Royals with a new site as a possibility - Washington Square Park.

The proposed ballpark would sit between Main Street and Grand Boulevard in Kansas City, just north of Pershing Road. Union Station sits to the west and Crown Center sits to the south. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City is moving out of the building that currently sits there.
