Matt Boyd, just acquired at the trade deadline in the David Price to Toronto trade, scattered seven hits across seven innings. He allowed only one run, which came in the fourth inning off an Eric Hosmer single and a Kendrys Morales triple. Contrary to what you might think, an outfielder or two did not collapse in order for Morales to reach third. He just hit it really hard on a line to a very deep part of the ballpark.
