The Royals stuck with their draft plan on Tuesday loading up on pitchers and middle of the field talent in rounds 3 through 10. The theme of the first day continued with their 3rd round pick when they took Western Kentucky centerfielder Anderson Miller. The most interesting note on this pick might be that it is likely off the recommendation of area scout Mike Farrell who scouted the Royals 1st and 2nd picks on day 1. An area scout from the Indiana area getting three of a teams first four picks drafted is likely very rare. As for the player BA describes Miller like this:
Miller has been a productive player at Western Kentucky, but he took a significant step forward this season as he added some power to his already impressive hitting ability.
