Royals’ Danny Duffy is rehabbing from injury ... and providing expert game commentary

As the Royals embarked on a nine-game road trip on the West Coast, starting pitcher Danny Duffy remained back in Kansas City, focusing on his rehab from a strained oblique muscle.

On Friday, Duffy threw his latest side session at Kauffman Stadium. He will throw again on Sunday, Royals manager Ned Yost said, and he could face some live hitters during a side session on Tuesday at Kauffman Stadium. For now, he appears to be slightly ahead of schedule. He was expected to miss closer to six to eight weeks after going on the disabled list on May 30.
