As general manager Dayton Moore departed the annual GM meetings on Thursday, the club’s front office remained in research mode, gathering intel and performing due diligence as they search for ways to upgrade their team in 2017.
For now, the exact offseason path remains unclear. The club could stand pat for one more postseason run, sprinkle in a few new pieces here or there, or perhaps shake up their core with a significant move. But one thing is clear: As the Royals attempt to rebound from an 81-81 finish, they are once again counting on internal improvements from many of their core players.
