The long road back for John Lamb has led him to U.S. Cellular Field.
Lamb, once the team’s most highly touted pitching prospect, could make his big-league debut for the Royals as the 26th man in their split doubleheader with the White Sox on Friday.
Lamb, a 25-year-old lefty, will be eligible for the second game, which begins at 7:10 p.m. The team will decide after the game if he remains with the club, or if he will return to Class AAA Omaha.
Lamb has posted a 9-1 record with a 2.
