The Royals have acquired catcher Andrew Susac from the Baltimore Orioles for cash considerations. The 29-year old has been a journeyman, hitting .221/.283/.373 in 113 career big league games over five seasons with the Brewers, Giants, and Orioles. Last year he appeared in just nine games with the Orioles, and hit .256/.405/.456 in 42 games in AAA.
Susac was originally a second-round pick by the Giants in 2011 out of Oregon State. He was considered a top 100 prospect by Baseball America before the 2015 season, but his bat never really continued to develop. He did show a good eye in the minors with a 12.
