For much of the season, the Royals have had a problem in right field. The newly-signed Alex Rios got off to a hot start in his first week, but a broken hand forced Paulo Orlando into much more action than anyone expected for the 29-year old rookie. Orlando filled in admirably early on, hitting approximately 352 triples in his first handful of games, but a lack of on-base ability has limited his overall contributions. And when Rios returned, it took him quite a long while to get his timing back, scuffling badly through the month of June.
