It’s July 2nd which means 16 year olds are making millions of dollars thanks to the international signing period and teams agreements through their advisors. The Royals as I wrote yesterday are looking to give out their biggest international payday to Latin players since 2011 and while they haven’t spent big big money the last few years they have still still signed some exciting young players. With that said lets take a quick look at the international classes of the last few years.
2009 – Cheslor Cuthbert, Jorge Bonifacio
This is the same class that recently called up Minnesota Twin third baseman Miguel Sano was a part of so while it’s easy to write these two players off you must remember that these guys are just 22 years old which is a similar age as a college senior that was drafted.
