For the second month in a row, a member of the Royals’ organization was named the Appalachian League Player of the Month. After Logan Porter took home the honor in July, Burlington Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino earned the award for August, as announced by Minor League Baseball on Thursday.
Pasquantino, 21, batted .381 (32-for-84) and led the Appalachian League in homers (five), total bases (58), slugging percentage (.690) and OPS (1.130), while ranking second in batting average. His totals in runs scored (18), RBI (22) and his .440 on-base percentage all ranked fourth best in the league.
