On anniversary of parade, Danny Duffy took time to help at an animal shelter

One year ago Thursday, left-hander Danny Duffy and the Royals were showered with love from adorning fans during the World Series parade and celebration.

On Thursday, Duffy was the one sending out the good vibes to a bunch of eager onlookers.

Duffy was at the KC Pet Project as the Royals honored their World Series celebration by giving something back to the community. All told, 40 Royals employees as well as Duffy, volunteered at non-profit sites around Kansas City. Duffy was one of 10 people at the animal shelter, including broadcaster Steve Physioc.

The others sites were Harvesters — The Community Food Bank at 3801 Topping Ave.
