Despite a lackluster performance in the first six innings, Nelson Velázquez and the Royals ambushed the Mariners in the later innings with a 4-2 win. The victory secures a winning road trip.
Coming off of a poor performance on Monday night, the Royals offense didn’t look much better against Logan Gilbert in Game 2. Through the first six innings of the game, Kansas City barely threatened to make things interesting.
Fortunately, Michael Wacha was just as good as the opposition. The right-hander struck out the first five in his first three innings of work.
However, Luke Raley punished the Royals for the second consecutive night.
