As Tuesday night’s contest against the visiting Detroit Tigers neared, Manager Ned Yost greeted the media at Kauffman Stadium.
Ned spoke on the importance of playing time in Jorge Soler’s career progression. Soler has hammered 38 homers this year, tying Mike Moustakas’ 2017 campaign for the single-season Royals record. The Cuban outfielder made his Major League debut with the Cubs in 2014, after just two years of minor league experience. Yost explained that Soler’s short time in the minors created a greater need for consistent Major League at-bats to develop as a hitter.
