Royals manager Ned Yost sat down with the media on Monday at Kauffman Stadium before the first game of a three-game set with the Tampa Bay Rays.
After the team placed first baseman Lucas Duda on the disabled list while he deals with plantar fasciitis, Yost said that the lefty had been dealing with it since Spring Training. His foot “released” after a swing yesterday in Cleveland. Yost did not speculate as to how long the recovery process will be, but will keep an eye on his recovery day-by-day.
The manager spoke highly of Duda’s defense at first this season, noting his impressive range and strong throwing arm.
