Royals manager Ned Yost met with the media in the dugout on Friday evening, ahead of the club’s Interleague series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Royals’ offense has shown spurts of consistency over the last few games, and Ned said the lineup has potential to build on that success. Ned sees the improvements that the bottom of the order has been making during batting practice, and he appreciates the hard work his players are putting in.
Prior to yesterday’s off day, the Royals played 13 consecutive games, including a six-game road trip. Ned said to help avoid fatigue, he’s been rotating players through the designated hitter spot, and gave veteran Alex Gordon Wednesday off, to provide him with the extra day of rest to simply recharge.
