Royals manager Ned Yost met with the media on Monday at Kauffman Stadium. Today is a make-up affair of the game that was set for April 15, but was postponed due to weather. Both teams will be celebrating a belated Jackie Robinson Day, and will don the ceremonial “42” jerseys during today’s game.
Yost began his meeting this afternoon by explaining the confidence he has in infielder Alcides Escobar, who will be making his first career start at third base, saying that Escobar boasts some of the best hands in baseball and that although it will be a change for the infielder, Yost is certain that Escobar is up to the challenge.
