Ned’s Notes: June 1

Royals manager Ned Yost answered a few questions from the media on Friday at Kauffman Stadium before the first game of the three-game set against the Oakland Athletics.

As the 2018 MLB First-Year Player Draft approaches later this month, Yost commended the entire Baseball Operations team for their hard work and dedication, saying they are logging 15–16 hour days constantly in preparation, and he is excited to watch their hard work unfold. Yost also reflected upon one of his most memorable draft classes back in 2005 when he was a part of the Milwaukee Brewers’ organization, saying that he remembered the Brewers drafting Ryan Braun with the fifth overall selection, but jokingly mentioned that the Royals selected, “a kid named Alex Gordon” a few picks earlier.
