Royals manager Ned Yost met with the media prior to Tuesday night’s game with the Cleveland Indians.
Yost discussed young infielder Adalberto Mondesi, who had the day off from the starting lineup Tuesday.
The skipper said Mondesi has had no health issues thus far and has bounced back well after playing multiple days in a row while also doing work before games.
Yost says don’t read into the .184 batting average the 22-year-old currently has. He sees an improved and more confident hitter that is taking better passes at secondary pitches.
Catcher Salvador Perez has not experienced a losing season since his second year in the big leagues in 2012, and Yost sees it weighing on the usually jovial veteran.
