Royals manager Ned Yost met with reporters before Wednesday’s game vs. Oakland.
Yost informed the media that Jorge Soler, who was placed on the 10-day DL on April 2 with a strained left oblique, has been taking swings in the batting cage and is expected to take live batting practice on Friday. If all goes well, Soler is expected to begin a Minor League rehab assignment early next week.
Additionally, Yost addressed the Royals’ recent roster moves:
- OF Terrance Gore was optioned to Double-A Northwest Arkansas following Monday’s game
- LHP Matt Strahm was optioned to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday
- RHP Jake Junis and LHP Scott Alexander were recalled prior to tonight’s game.
