Kansas City Royals designated hitter Kendrys Morales has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his actions following his ninth-inning ejection, which included returning to the field, during Tuesday night's 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. MLB senior vice president of standards and on-field operations Joe Garagiola Jr. made the announcement.
Unless appealed, the suspension of Morales is scheduled to be served Thursday afternoon, when the Royals are to conclude their series at Tampa Bay. If Morales elects to appeal, then the discipline issued to him will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
