Mike Sweeney Royals Hall of Fame News Conference

Mike Sweeney will be the 26^th player inducted into the Royals Hall of Fame prior to tonight’s game. has gotten to know Sweeney since taking over as the Royals skipper and described him as, “a phenomenal baseball player, but he’s a phenomenal human being too.”

Sweeney was extremely thankful and emotional to the entire Royals organization for selecting him to become the 26^th member of the Royals Hall of Fame. Sweeney described the many adversities he overcame throughout his career to get to where he is today and credited his father as being his inspiration during the tough times.
