For the second year in a row, the Lexington Legends are the South Atlantic League Champions.
Lexington outlasted the Hickory Crawdads 4–1 in 13 innings in game four of the series tonight, capped off by Reed Rohlman’s two-run walk-off homer.
The Legends are the first Royals affiliate to win back-to-back league championships since the Omaha Storm Chasers (AAA) won two Pacific Coast League titles from 2013–14. They’re also the first team to repeat as SAL champion since the Lakewood BlueClaws from 2009–10. Of the four possible repeat champions in the minors this season, Lexington is the first to reclaim its title thus far.
