Left-handed pitcher Mike Minor returned to Kansas City on Tuesday after experiencing some mild rotator cuff fatigue during a rehab assignment at Class AAA Omaha.
Royals manager Ned Yost stressed the issue was not serious — and not necessarily a setback — but club officials wished to have head trainer Nick Kenney evaluate Minor as the Omaha Storm Chasers opened a four-game series at Colorado Springs on Tuesday.
Minor, a former starter for the Atlanta Braves, is returning from a torn left rotator cuff, which required surgery last May. He signed a two-year deal with the Royals in February.
