After missing 15 months, Kris Bubic was activated from the Injured List today and is set to make his 2024 debut after Tommy John surgery last year. To make room on the roster, the Royals optioned pitcher Walter Pennington to Triple-A and designated pitcher Colin Selby for assignment.
Bubic has pitched parts of four seasons with the Royals and has a 4.85 ERA in 325 innings. He was off to a good start in 2023 with a 3.94 ERA in three starts until he was shut down. He has been slowly rehabbing and was pitching well in Omaha with a 2.
