The Storm Chasers collected 12 hits, with all but one being singles. Cheslor Cuthbert went 2-for-4 with a double. Casey Kotchman went 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Leadoff hitter Whit Merrifield went 2-for-5, while Jose Martinez went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Wandy Rodriguez made his Omaha debut and recorded just two outs in the fifth, but threw 36 pitches. He allowed a run on three hits and a walk and left with the bases loaded.
