The KC Royals have agreed to contracts with former closer Joakim Soria and swingman Chris Young, according to MLB.com reporter Jeffrey Flanagan. The deals are said to be valid pending physicals for both players:
The pair of deals for Soria and Young are a major move to bolster the dominant Kansas City Royals bullpen which only had Wade Davis, Kelvin Herrera, Luke Hochevar, and Tim Collins under contract.
Joakim Soria was asking for three-years at $27 million, while Chris Young’s deal is rumored to be for two-years, and $10 to $11 million.
