Shortly after the Kansas City Royals closed out their win in game two against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday night, it was announced that the team had made a move to acquire Yankees prospect Ryan McBroom in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later. While the name is not going to “wow” anyone immediately, it’s an underrated acquisition for the team.
McBroom, 27, was a standout slugger at West Virginia and was drafted in the 15th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. He was traded to the Yankees in July 2017 and is on the move again after being blocked by the emergence of Luke Voit.
