Selected with the 40th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, Kansas City Royals southpaw pitcher Kris Bubic has made quite an impact already in the team’s minor league system. Coming out of Stanford, the 22-year old made 15 starts in his final season in Palo Alto in which he had an 8-1 record with a 2.62 ERA to go along with 101 strikeouts in 86.0 innings of work.
The Royals, who desperately need starting pitching, selected the lefty with the Competitive Balance Round-A pick. He was part of the “fab-five” of 5 pitchers the team selected in the first two rounds of the 2018 Draft.
