Alex Gordon announced he’s retiring at season’s end, after 14 seasons with the Kansas City Royals. That’s one heck of a run – especially for a player whose career was filled with curveballs (figurative and literally).
Gordon was drafted second overall in the 2004 MLB Draft after an amazing run with Nebraska. At one point he was considered a bust – but he eventually turned himself into a defensive standout (he’s a seven-time Gold Glove Award winner) and a timely hitter.
Royals fans will likely never forget this moment from Game One of the 2015 World Series.
