Joakim Soria sauntered through the first floor of the Kansas City Convention Center on early Friday evening, a white Royals jersey on his back once again, another autograph session approaching. As Soria headed to the main showroom at Bartle Hall, home to last weekend’s Royals FanFest, he came first across an old teammate from his original stint here in Kansas City.
“Jack!” Mike Moustakas said, peeling away from two reporters and making a beeline for Soria.
When Soria and Moustakas shared a clubhouse in 2011, one was a 27-year-old All-Star closer and a veteran voice in the clubhouse; the other was a 22-year-old rookie third baseman, a key piece in a growing youth movement.
