Infante exits early due to left oblique strain

DETROIT -- Royals second baseman Omar Infante left Friday night's game against the Tigers after five innings because of a left oblique strain.

Club officials said Infante would be re-evaluated on Saturday.

Infante batted twice, striking out the last time. In that final at-bat, he appeared to be stretching that left side.

Oblique strains can require three to four weeks of recovery.
