For the third time in as many nights, a Royals affiliate won a minor league championship.
The Idaho Falls Chukars defeated the Ogden Raptors, 10–8, Sunday night in deciding Game 3, clinching the Pioneer League Championship for the second time in team history and first since 2013.
The Chukars struck first, plating a trio of runs in the third inning on RBI knocks from Stephen Vidal (2-for-4), Tyler Tolbert (3-for-5) and Jose Marquez (1-for-5). Idaho Falls’ offense kept the line moving with three more runs in the fifth and two additional tallies in the sixth.
