With a 15–2 road win over the Missoula Osprey on July 24, the Idaho Falls Chukars, the Royals’ Rookie-Advanced affiliate, clinched the Pioneer League North Division title for the first half of the season.
Idaho Falls’ last trip to the postseason was in 2015, when they defeated Orem in the first round and advanced to the league championship, before falling 2–1 to Missoula. The Chukars’ last Pioneer League title came in 2013, when they defeated Helena 2–1, including a 6–0 shutout in the deciding third game of the series.
The 2019 campaign has been a veritable rollercoaster so far for the Chukars.
